Home on the Bayou

The Weekend before Easter we finally made it back to the sweeet south. Just in time for a local craft fair my mom has always wanted to go to and for my Maw Maw's birthday. We were also lucky enough that it was crawfish season so we took my Maw Maw out to a restraunt for her birthday lunch.

Leslie was tuckered out after the craft fair we were able to slide her in our booth for a bit for her to rest.

Lauren with some of the decor.

Okay, so Lauren as a child LOVED crawfish, but apparently it had been a few years since she had some because when they put this tray in front of her and we told her what to do she went balaistic. My mom had to do all the peeling for her.

Then our orders came. The rest of the table ordered Shrimp Po Boys while Lauren wanted to try a soft shell crab Po Boy. I had an idea of what it would be like but Lauren was SOO surprised when she saw this whole crab on her sandwich. she said it didn't taste bad, but she would never order one again.

Leslie liked the shrimp a lot but the crawfish made her pretty nervous.

We pulled out my Maw Maw's first sewing machiene to do some mending. I tried to use it but got aggrevated and quit.

Like I said before it was my Maw Maw's birthday (87) so we had a party for her with my cousins.

Leslie was so excited when my cousins kids came over. They are under 10 and I think they were pretty excited for someone new to play with. They kept chasing Leslie around
