David's maternal grandfather passed away at the end of March. We were sad to lose him but we were excited to see the Wilson family that we have missed so much. We flew as a family and it was Leslie's first airplane ride.
At first she was so excited to play in the seat. Luckily the one next to us was empty.
She looked out the window.
Had her snacks and watched the tv while it was free. Then there was so screaming, crying and complaining and then...
the last forty minutes was this. Thank goodness. Our flight took off at 9pm and arrived at 11:30 pm MST. We then picked up our rental car and drove to Rupert.
Monday, the morning of the funeral it snowed. We did looked at the weather but were not prepared for snow. So we bundled Leslie in her jeans, jacket and footie pj's and took her out so she could play in the snow for the first time.
She was interested in it. She kept looking down like she couldn't move in this white stuff. We threw some snow balls at her until she touched it and freaked out. That was pretty much the end of the experience.
The service was very well done. Robert Lowder was 86 when he died, he left behind 8 children, 48 grandchildren and 112(?) great-grandchildren. 42 of the grandchildren were able to make it to the funeral which I thought was amazing.
Our cute nieces were so nice to ride with us and entertain Leslie.
Leslie loved, loved , loved Uncle Jeph and Aunt Venita's puppy. The poor little guy had to keep running away from her.
While we were there we decided to move up our move a few months while gas prices were still lower than peak summer prices. We just put it all in a storage unit till after the summer because we will be house sitting for three months. While going through our stuff David gave some of the kids some music lessons.
It was so fun for me to see Leslie with her cousins, because she is getting to that age where she actually wants to try to interact with other kids. Here are a few pictures of Leslie with cousins her age.
Leslie was so excited to chase after the kittens everytime we were outside.
She even tried out the big girl swing while we were there.

While we had a whole week in the Idaho/Utah area we were able to see some Allred family. Here is us with Grandma and Grandpa. Leslie and I caught some kind of two week long cold so we had to keep our distance from them. We spent the evening with Jason and Lochsley, thanks for the amazing stay. Oh and to the Smiths thank you so much for lestting us borrow the Pack n' Play it was such a blessing.
Then for breakfast we went to IHOP with two of my old roommates. It was so nice to see them again. Afterwards we went to the airport and flew home to Texas.
